Jasmine Coates
Born in Washington, D.C., raised in Potomac, MD, and attending school in Ann Arbor, MI (GO BLUE), I have always been on the move, and being one of 4 kids, there is always something going on.
And for me, picking up my camera has allowed me to freeze my hectic schedule and for 30, 45, 60, or 90 minutes live in the moment. And my favorite part of those few minutes is that I get to spend it with you,

As a BFA Design and Production major at the University of Michigan, I’m constantly inspired by the intersection of art and technology. My education fuels my passion for creative problem-solving, whether I’m working on stage, behind the camera, or in the studio.

As a leader, I believe in listening, motivating, and bringing out the best in those around me. I am deeply committed to fostering inclusion and ensuring that everyone feels seen, heard, and valued—both in my creative work and in every space I’m part of.

Before I picked up a camera, I found my voice as an actress. Theatre taught me expression, timing, and empathy—qualities that inspire my work today. Performing live gave me a love for authentic moments, which I now strive to capture in every photograph.
